The vision for an events café was developed by husband and wife Michelle and David, with much prayer and encouragement from their brilliant family and friends.

Michelle has worked with children and families for many years, teaching cookery skills, nutrition, arts and crafts. Michelle has a keen enthusiasm for baking with children and involving the whole family in the heart of all great homes – the kitchen! David is often to be found sat with a guitar in hand entertaining the family whilst they cook or before they eat together.

Something lovely happens where there is music, baked goods, good coffee and happy children, and Michelle and David wanted to bring this home-form-home feel to a community café.

The Gratitude Café is a place to socialise over live music, get creative with children, have fun sharing arts and baking skills – all from a home inspired atmosphere. We celebrate that we are made in the image of our Creator and we invite you to be part of that through our classes and events. Check out our events page for more information (link to page)

We are also looking at developing our venue to host small cookery groups for adults (such as Authentic Indian cookery, or life cookery for young adults) – download our free app to stay updated (link to app?)

So why ‘Gratitude’?

The name is based on the lyrics of a much loved Jason Mraz song, but also sums up how we feel about having the opportunity to live our vision of developing a real heart and soul café where people can truly appreciate how loved, creative and talented they are. And of course, we are grateful for coffee. Lots of coffee. Oh, and homemade cake. And tea…
